Faunis Map Overview

I thought I should upload a more elaborate Faunis Map, so here it is. My first attempt at a map, my second attempt to use GIMP

The Faunis live in the most heavily wooded territory of the packs. In tune with their nature-based gifts, they thrive in the deep forests. Where most packs find these woods they reside in too stuffy and heavy, the Faunis take comfort with being so close to the spirit of their Goddess, Parmedis. Venturing into these woods without a Faunis guide or without the permission of the Faunis pack is highly unwise, as Faunis wolves can control plant life and are not shy about protecting what is rightfully theirs.

Key:
A- These area's are very sparsely covered with trees, mostly populated by shrubbery, grass, and small animal life. It is easy to travel through no matter what pack one is affiliated with.
B- where the forest starts, this area is thriving with animal life of all sizes, with medium sized trees of all types. As useful as this area is for hunting, relatively few herbs and healing plants of can be found here. These woods are still relatively easy to travel through, and the open sky is still visible through the canopy
C- Heavily wooded, the trees are thick and difficult to pass through with ease unless you are a Faunis wolf, whatever the age. In these areas the trees seem to be never ending and the animal life that exists here are either large or dangerous without the freedom to maneuver oneself. The Faunis witnessed passing through these areas seem to be almost enviously graceful. These areas usually require a Faunis guide.
D- These areas are even difficult for Faunis wolves. The less gifted have trouble trekking through this dense wood, but here the majority of healing plants and herbs can be found. To prevent being lost, a few paths have been placed marking the largest and most important colonies of plant-life.
E- Known as The Guardian Wood, this area is only easily accessible by the Alpha and the Beta or wolves with expressed permission of the Alpha and Beta. Said to be guarded by Parmedis herself, this area is completely devoid of animal life, holding only wild tangled growths impassable. Those that venture in this wood must be fetched and guided out by the Alpha or Beta or wolves with expressed permission of the Alpha and Beta. It surrounds the Soul of Parmedis (2). The pack will protect this area at the cost of their lives.


Landmarks:
1. Faunis camp- a lightly wooded clearing protected by a heavily forested wall of trees, the dens here are all miniature versions of the Heart of Parmedis, except for the Alpha's. The Alpha's den resides directly in the middle of the camp as a slightly elevated cave.
2. The Soul of Parmedis - A huge magnificent tree of legend, it is said that this is where Parmedis had originally descended and gave her gift to the Faunis ancestors. The tree can be seen from other territories and towers over all other giants in Faunis territory. Most commonly known as The Soul Home, only those of pure heart and cleansed soul seem to be able to find the base of the tree. In fact they seem to even be guided toward the tree. This does mean, however, that there have been Faunis Alpha's and Beta's who were unable to access this area for most of their lives. This is also where the bodies of past Alpha's and Beta's are laid to rest, By the to-be Alpha or by the Alpha.
3. The Heart of Parmedis - While not as tall as The Soul Home, The Heart of Parmedis is a wide area where several trees have sprouted to grow and twist into one to create an open area near their roots. The second tallest landmark in Faunis territory, this is where the wolves come to worship their goddess or bring the sick, injured, or old to die, or to return most of the dead back to the soil.

Hunting Grounds:
The Faunis feed on many animals that reside in the woods (from A-C), this ranges from anything as small as a mouse to deer to even the occasional bear.
